Easter break is already a distant memory, and another school break is already upon us, but we just had to show off some highlights from the awesome workshops and activities that we ran back then:
Throughout April, we continued our youth work at Pollards Hill, Phipps Bridge YC, and the Acacia Adventure Playground in Merton. Our dedicated youth workers were on hand to provide support, ensuring that every session ran smoothly and that the young people had a safe and enjoyable experience. Our consistent presence in these communities helps us build strong, supportive relationships with the young people we serve.
T-Shirt Design
Our awesome youth worker Laurence turned our Pollards Hill and Phipps Bridge youth centres into design studios for a T-shirt decorating workshops. Everyone unleashed their inner artist, expressing themselves through their own unique designs, and learning new skills along the way.
Self-Defence and Boxing
During the first week of April, We turned up the energy with self-defence and boxing sessions! Coach First delivered an empowering session at Pollards Hill YC, while Coach Marco brought the action to Phipps Bridge YC. These sessions were not just a great way to get the young people moving, they were also about building confidence and learning important self-defence skills.
Weekly Mentoring at Harris Academy Merton
Every Thursday, we partner up with Unique Talent and Croydon Elite to deliver mentoring sessions during the weekly basketball sessions at Harris Academy Merton. In April, JAF mentors Caiden, Villi, and Simeon were on the ground, providing guidance, support, and inspiration to the young athletes.
JAF Shout Outs
A big thank you to our current youth workers: Villi, Lorraina, Teme, and Simeon. Your dedication and hard work make all of our sessions possible, and we couldn't do it without you!
Thank you to everyone who participated and supported our Easter half term activities. We look forward to continuing to provide valuable experiences for young people in our community. Stay tuned for updates on the events and sessions from the May break.
